*This illustration project creates a tangible record of each day (one card per day). A series of postcards were designed to measure 6 by 4 inches
Initially the intended duration of the project was one year.Currently it is approaching its 400th day.A card per day has become a ritual that is carried out no matter where I am or how I am feeling.
The objective is to create a series of mixed media illustrations which can then either be bound into a visual journal or exhibited individually as an archive of memories . The content of the illustrations is informed by the people, places and circumstances which define each day.
The cards were designed to capture a variety of data in order to create a holistic a memory of each 24hour period .The data includes images, insights, dreams aswell as practical information (location /date day /to-do-lists).
Being an obsessive collector of all things, including memories, I wanted to carry with me something more compact and less obvious than a journal, on which to record the essence of every 24 hour period.
The cards functions as a log book and as a surface for illustration.
They can be classified as ‘post-cards’ in that they are posted to the virtual space of this web address instead of being posted in the traditional sense.
